If it (the Howard grand) was manufactured by Kawai, it would have a Kawai decal on the sound board (at least that is what I have found in my customer's pianos)

Thank you. I read that- found the Acrosonic number, but found the Kawai one, too. It "looked" pretty beaten up, and I thought older than Kawai number indicated- but it evidently just had a hard life..

  Thanks again

  7/32"

Pierce Piano Atlas says prior to 1959 and after 1968, use Acrosonic numbers. After 1966, grands made by Kawai -- use Kawai numbers; still later, made by Samick.
There's also an R.S. Howard, made by Janssen.

What's the hex size to get into an Everett piano? Thought I had the right one in bag, and it turned out to be a Kawai leg hex.

Also the brand "Howard", produced by Kawai. Does one search Kawai numbers, or Baldwin numbers, or Acrosonic numbers to learn the age of such a thing.?

  Thanks much
