Duh, that would be how the tone fares.... br--(blush) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Richmond" <piano57 at comcast.net> To: pianotech at ptg.org Sent: Monday, September 6, 2010 9:02:22 AM Subject: Re: [pianotech] Jig for loose hammer head felts-All hail GORILLA glue! Good work Lee. I've used cauls shaped like that (suggested by someone on the list), but without the channel, so I had trouble keeping the felt nice and straight--which is why I've replaced bass hammers that have sprung. Be sure to let us know how the tone fairs on those repaired hammers. Hello Listees Thankyou all for your responses, but this was the trickiest job ive done for a long time. Tried ca glue, titebond, vice grips, all to no avail, so when my patience ran out, (after pulling out all my hair) I made this little jig which did the trick simply with no complications and used Gorilla glue. Gorilla glue is AMAZING stuff, will glue anything. Highly recommended. regards Lee -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
