[pianotech] Accessing the Erard Action

Hi all.

I came across one today - a straight strung restored beauty, and I need
to access the action.

The key cover has a long hinge connecting its 2 pieces at key height. I
was not able to figure out how this key cover is secured. It is not
secured to the cheek blocks - those came out rather easily. You would
think from that description something must be holding it in place on top
at the stretcher, but all that is there are 2 small #4's in a small
brass lockish-looking device.

What is holding this key cover in place?

I took pictures, but for some reason I am not able to transfer from the
Blackberry to the computer..

Where should A4 be set at? I'm thinking 434.

Feeling quite challenged today!,
