[pianotech] basic or full service

I seriously doubt the Rust Blocker Shield will provide any beneficial
effect in a piano - especially a grand, but verticals also. Pianos are
not sealed - they are too open to the surrounding environment and
humidity will equilibrate with the room they are in. The Shield states
that it is effective in enclosures up to volumes of 400 cubic feet. In
a piano, if you were to tape all the openings to seal it, at about 25
cubic feet interior volume, it may well offer some rust protection.
But being that the piano interior will equilibrate with the room - an
average room being maybe 2,000 cubic feet - and that's if the room
were sealed off - the thing appears being used way beyond its intended
capacity.
