Remove the masking from the pins before applying the clear coat.

Thank you.<G> The part that was not explained, (or I missed it), was the
hitch pins are cleaned, (wire brushed?), of all paint and then the heat
shrink is applied. Once the plate is finished, then the tubing is removed,
leaving a nice clean/bare hitch pin as shown in one of the 'finished'
photos. My question is this: What do you do to retard those hitch pins from
rusting?

Readily available at Radio Shack probably.  I purchased mine from ACE
Hardware in the electronics aisle.  Available in a variety of widths.

Okee Dokee. sounds like a better application of the same concept. I'm
willing to try that. However, where does ya gets that stuff? Electronics
Store possibly?
