[pianotech] It's official: music rewires the brain (as if you didn't know)

Thanks David. In another life when I was an elementary music teacher, I
always stressed making, or producing music, rather than just consuming it.
I found that those students who were taking lessons of some sort had a much
higher level of music making quality, and were also the ones who did well
all around. There were also students who didn't have that opportunity, but
for some reason "clicked" in music class, and were soon able to achieve a
much higher level of concentration and longer attention span in music class,
which they were sometimes able to bring to bear in their other subjects.
Unfortunately, Bush's and Obama's education plans deemphasize the arts in
favor of test scores. (I'm trying to be bipartisan here...)
