First, I've been tuning a lot lately and my left wrist is killing me. Rap your wrist with a wrist strap. Mine has the word (Mueller) on it, I bought it in a Wal-Mart pharmacy dept. This should stop the pain while you tune octaves. IBprofin also helps.
