Here's a new one...

There is a commercial recording studio here that I periodically work for.
They have a beautiful Kawai GS-100, probably among the best top 10 pianos
extant in Southern Nevada. They are currently working on a project and
called me in yesterday for tuning. Late last night I received a call from
the manager saying that there was a buzz in the piano and it was interfering
with the recording. I came in and checked all the typical buzz sources -
lock, hinges, lid prop, plate bolts, trap work, sound board buttons, and so
on. I could not find any problem that would make the buzz go away.

Next I pulled out my handy Spurlock sound board sweeper hoping to find a
paper clip. I started at the tail and worked my way forward, raking every
accessible corner. All I was pulling out were dust bunnies. Finally I got
to the treble section and was about to give up when I heard something scrap
along the sound board as I swept past it. BINGO! I knew I had found the
cause but what could it be? It seemed to roll around so it was difficult to
pull it into view. HOLY CRAP, IT"S CRAP! That's right, three little
jewels. I immediately laughed out loud causing the manager and the pianist
to run in to see what I had found.

"It's cat Sh*#!!"

(a pause...)

"Oh no it ain't, that's dog Sh*#!!"

The pianist quickly turned irate, they immediately knew it's origin. It
seems that a while back they were working with a guy who was a real jerk and
they ended up having to throw him out. He had three little dogs and he
apparently PUT that in there for his personal revenge! It was the only way
it could have happened. It had turned rock-hard and was dancing around on
the board. I immediately became a hero, (after it had hit the fan).
