Conrad, Keith and all: For an air compressor substitute, I have been using a miniature vacuum cleaner that reverses into a blower called "FastVac FV500". It generates an air stream much stronger than the hand bellows, yet is compact enough to take on the road in a small car - and is definitely a nice shop tool for blowing away dust, hammer felt filings and other such light applications. It also comes with very thin nozzles that can be used to place an air stream very precisely - otherwise, I use the crevice tool for a wider air stream. Also has a shoulder strap for convenience and a very long electrical cord. It costs under $80 and can be found in specialty vacuum cleaner stores, or on line - google "Fast Vac".
