[pianotech] Repair of 1961 Baldwin L Music Desk

Paul,
Could the brass tube be a hammer shank repair sleeve. I have used them 
to repair spinet music racks that break so easily by drilling to accept 
the sleeve, epoxying a hammer shank in an drilling a hole for the 
pivoting screw. This is usually a good repair.
