Terry:

I don't understand why you or any of us should properly have anything to
offer to the choir director regarding pricing. Define "appropriate". Who
decides what is appropriate and by what measure?

Given the wretched state of the economy, the lowball nature of school sales
in general, and the two competing dealers; it is unlikely that the school is

going to pay too much. This is a private transaction between the choir
director (school) and the dealers. We don't belong there. If asked, we can
give our professional opinion on the quality and durability of the makes and

brands, if we have had exposure to them. That is within our province.

I'm newly on the list so don't know protocol here about discussing
manufacturers and pricing. I have a school choir director I
occasionally tune for who is involved in purchasing a 6' grand and two
local distributors with competing Japanese manufacturers are after the
sale. I don't know current appropriate pricing for the pianos being
considered and wonder if anyone here could put prices into context.
Could someone contact me directly if have experience with new Japanese
piano values?
