Hi again: Jürgen: On the other hand: there are some words I never heard of before. E.g. Abstrakt or Abstrakte. That´s usually referred to as "that tiny thingee in Blüthners" :-) John: Well Blüthner people in England call it the abstract probably only because it's an English word and it matches the German word perfectly. It would probably be more correct for English speakers to call it the Sticker by analogy with the part having a similar function in the old Sticker Action for uprights. Besides, it's a good word! The thing is here is that the so called abstract really plays the roll of the knuckle in the Erard / Herz which at the same time serves as a kind of repetition lever. The Sticker in American English anyways refers to the drop action part that lifts the tail of the whippen: http://home.broadpark.no/~rbrekne/images/dropact.jpg I'd be more inclined to call it what it basically is.... a roller / knuckle that is mounted on what is effectively a repetition lever.
