Schaefer & Sons podal rod

If it were me, instead of making a wooden one, I would plug the rod with a piece of dowel, and then use your finishing nail. This would keep the look the same.

Maybe it does press fit. But it's still broken. If anything, I told the customer, I would replace the aluminum rod with a wood one, with nails sticking out of each end.

Are you sure it screws in?
The ones for Young-Chang just had a press fit. The edges were serrated, (probably the wrong word), and the fine edges just rubbed off on the sharp edge of the tube.
They plastic ones broke, but the nylon ones are holding up well.

First of all, who made Schaefer & Sons?

This has an aluminum pedal rod, and the end that sticks into the pedal lever is a plastic knob that screws into the rod. The customer has a heavy foot, and broke off the knob right where it screws in. Where I can get another knob? Manufacturer, supply house, ....
