Mike asks, << How big should those wedges be? Would a rubber mute work or should they be wood? >> Greetings, They are more like shims, maybe an inch wide, 1 1/2" long, tapering from a near feather edge to about 1/4" at their thickest. I have used rubber mutes once, but they didnt' seem to want to stay in place as well as wood with a little,( almost a pin-head size spot) of wood glue to secure them. These are easily popped out if needed, but I have several Steinways that have been rattle-free for decades with a couple of these little shims installed. You can find out if this addresses the problem before gluing them in place, too, Regards, Ed Foote RPT http://www.uk-piano.org/edfoote/index.html www.uk-piano.org/edfoote/well_tempered_piano.html <BR><BR><BR>**************<BR>Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges?
