Just a short note from Houston We on the far west side fared very well. A very few significant losses. 2-million homes without electricity, mine one of them. But all the national stuff they've showing is true. It is pretty hellish around here. Some might remember Danny Moore from a few years ago. He's up in Mississippi, lives in a bad area, yet managed virtually no damage. He's got a cop friend- otherwise might not be able to get home. Galvaston looks like an atomic blast went off. I'm online at a friend's house, have no current, and the famous (!) Sprint PCS is working up to its reputation- it is completely down. If they would get a few hundred thousand emails, they might improve a bit. Have a friend who is letting us access to his house for current to charge cell phone (wife uses Verizon), and any other thing we need. Word is that it could be up to four weeks before power is restored, though I'm only amile from home........... les bartlett houston
