Yay, (show-off)!  Exactly correct.  Now just imagine rebushing the balance rail.  The added flange is glued to the top.  The bushing is waaaayy down there in the button.  It would require popping off all the flanges, folding them back, remove/reinstall bushings, reglue flanges.
