There are no such constraints with the upright action, so can you 
explain why only Steinway, to my knowledge, on the old K uprights 
etc., implemented any such arrangement for a while and then abandoned 
it?  In 120 years none of the great makers seem to have acknowledged 
the brightness of this great light.
