Best Bass String Duplication?

Hi All,

I have toured the MAPES string shop twice in years past.  They advised me
not to depend on their sticks.  Either specific measurements or a sample is
recommended.  Don't expect them to duplicate a #20 bass string on a Steinway
M or the #4 on a Betsy Ross Spinet they the sticks are not that organized or
accurate.
