Hi Alan, I am confident that James Arledge http://www.pianostrings.com or some other scaling guru on this list could help unless you feel you have to have the exact factory scale. Kindest Regards, Garret --- Garret Traylor - President High Point Piano & Music Inc. 88-PIANO (336) 887-4266 From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of reggaepass at aol.com Sent: Friday, July 11, 2008 11:36 PM To: pianotech at ptg.org Subject: treble wire sizes for Grotrian 223 #122709, 1979 List, This piano has no string size markings either on the bridge or plate and the high treble wire is so rusty I can't accurately use a micrometer. I can measure the wire under the damper felts except in the high treble. This piano uses metric wire sizes (one half size smaller than our system). I would appreciate high treble measurements in thousandths, if possible. I'll also be grateful for the whole scale if anyone has it. The factory is on vacation until August 18. I'm replacing the treble wire August 14th. There has to be at least one other fool out there who's restrung a Grotrian 223.
