Muffler Hardware

Because, to go into a hardware store and get the help you deserve can be a loosing battle!

There is a lot to consider when shopping for screws, you guys make it sound easy! There is the thread count (no not your sheets), but whether a screw has US threads or metric threads. Does the screw have a flush head or a beveled head. Not to mention what kind of screwdriver is required to turn it! When you take all that into consideration and all these options have to turn out to one particular screw, yes, it can be hard!

That is why I was asking to see if there is another place. But yes, I will give Yamaha a call.

I think Quiet Keys is a "brand name" add on muffler...

No way! I went to one today and picked up a few things that didn't work. We're talkin about a zillion different threads for one size screw! If someone had the exact specs on the screws that would be great. I do not feel like spending my entire day looking for the exact fit.

I was just hoping a supply house would carry what I would need. Or, I guess, Yamaha. Anyone else have any ideas?

Thank you Tom, but no thank you.

Looking for hardware? I'd try the hardware store.
They have all sorts of things in those little bins.

Does anyone know where to get some hardware for the Quiet Keys System you commonly find on Yamaha U-1's? I am just talking about the wingnut that goes on the bass side, and the two little screws that go on the treble side, that are used to connect the actual muffler bar.

Thank you,

Matthew
