Put the wire in a vise, grab the bc with vise grips and?pull hard. A buck is not expensive, considering the materials, and the labor (or machinery) used to make them.

Anyone, please, I've searched the archives but didn't find it ...

What's the down and dirty way to pull old grand backchecks off the wires (reusing the wires) and putting the new heads on?

I was shocked at what Schaff gets for these now ... over a buck apiece even in sets!
