1) Take old rusty flange screws, put in jar with muriatic acid ( available at hardware and paint stores ) until rust is visibly removed. ( About 3 minutes. ) WEAR GOGGLES, MASK AND GLOVES !!!!!!! 2) Rinse THOROUGHLY !!!!!!! 3) Polish heads with Mibro (TM) "Mirror Finish" polish on buffing wheel. ( Just a few seconds each. ) 4) Put in another jar, with lacquer thinner, for about a day. ( To dissolve any Mibro residue. ) Strain, dry, put on rack and lacquer. I got a truly "mirror finish" set of screws this way, far, far easier than with any other method I've tried ! But do have one question: The main possible flaw in this procedure might be that not all of the acid is removed/neutralized before the lacquering, simply by rinsing. What might be used to do this, easily ????? Baking soda ??? Something else ??? Peace, G __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
