Definitely check the balance rail holes, they should just catch and fall with a slight touch. Also check the depth of the milling on those. I'm not sure if this problem occurs on Yammys but it is common that I have to drill the hole down to the proper depth to reduce binding on the balance rail pin, sometime the mortice is full of torn up wood fibers and you need to clean it out with a dremel.
