It appears that I have slightly misremembered some stuff.  I got the 
following overnight, direct from the source...

The 1/7 Comma comment was actually made by someone else, but for the 
sake of general correction, I'm leaving BB's response intact.  BB and 
the dealer are both in the same chapter, and both routinely use 
non-equal temperaments. The relational inference drawn was apparently 
mistaken. Mea culpa.
