String coils affect stability?

No effect on stability, once they are settled in. It's just 
ugly and sloppy looking. I'll guess the tuning pins are 
leaning WAY back at the magic 7° or more? Unless the looks of 
it bothers the owner, I'd leave bad enough alone.
