gray market

A newbie tech here. I'm really interested in this topic. Did the customer
buy the piano as new or used? If it was sold as used, what is the main
problem with selling these pianos except that they were built for a higher
humidity level?

Thanks for the info!

Subject: gray market

I just discovered that a Yamaha G3 that I have to give an appraisal on is
very likely a gray market piano. What I know at this point is that they
bought it from a Vancouver dealer 14 years ago for 7k.Assuming that it is
still holding up what might you think is a fair value? I'm also assuming
that the clients don't realise the truth. Any suggestions on approaching
them?
Much appreciated.
