Earplug suggestions

Hi John.  My Westone inserts have the db numbers marked in tiny, tiny
writing on the edges.  Just some trivia for the evening.

Yes, assuming you have enough of your hearing left. :-)

I use custom-fitted Westone plugs with ER inserts. Got them from an
audiologist years ago. Well worth it. I use either the 9dB or the 15
dB inserts. I've forgotten which ones are which, but I think I
currently have the 9db ones in the plugs.
