Migration from Palm device to Pocket PC

Terry, you're not the only one with that problem. I sure would be open to a nice solution or additional comments.

My understanding is that the 4 user-defined fields are not available to Pocket Outlook, and will not sync. I have casually looked for Pocket PC software that will use the basic outlook database but will sync the custom fields (of which there are a maximum of four in Outlook 2002). I plan to look into a cheap trick: In Outlook (desktop) write a macro which will append the custom fields into the "note" field of a record. Subsequent execution of the macro will overwrite the previously appended lines in the "note" field. The :"note" field will sync to Pocket Outlook.

Subject: Migration from Palm device to Pocket PC

  Dear List

I'm shifting from the Palm environment to the Pocket PC. I've been able to get my client data into Outlook 2002 (version 10) on my desktop, including the 4 user-defined fields that I use in tracking: Piano Information; Next Time Do This; Last Service Was On; Service is Due On.

I can't seem to get those user-defined fields to synch over to my Pocket PC device.

  I guess I'm asking:

  1) Does Pocket Outlook not have any user-defined fields?

  or

  2) is there a field-mapping routine between Desktop Outlook and Pocket PC Outlook that I should be doing that I don't know about?

I can't be the only one with this problem

  thanks in advance
