Yup, that's definitely the best way. A recommendation from someone you know 
and trust is always better than seeing an ad and wondering, "Is this person 
any good?"

It _is_ possible, however...  Tomorrow, I go to a new customer (1920 
Steinway O, ~65 miles away) who got my name from the PTG website and sent 
me an email. If I live up to my own phone hype, somewhere down the line 
there may arise a cluster of tunings in that area.

Again, word of mouth.  Backed up by competent work.

Word of mouth gets you in the door, ONCE. Confirming the hype gets you back 
the second and all future times.
