I've had the tools for quite some time, need to mic them again to make =
sure
they're OK. It's probably the person holding them, though. :-)

As you can see from the quote below, this issue was discussed almost
exactly one year ago. Contact Don Manino. As you can see, from the =
recent
posts on center pin friction, there can be a considerable number of
variables besides the tool itself.

Mike,

I just bought a couple of sets the other day - I'll mic them on Monday =
and
see if they are as bad as the ones you got.

If this is common I'll have to have a talk with the people making them.

I currently have the Mannino broach kit from Schaff, but often get
inconsistent results. Mostly what happens is one bushing ends up looser =
than
the other.=20
=20
How do the broaches differ from the straight reamers in consistency? Any
other benefits of the straight reamers that you like?=20

While we=12re on the subject, how do the Pianotek reamers compare to =
using
roughened center pins, a la Steve Brady=12s book, =13A Piano =

to Field Repairs=14?

I don=12t mind ordering the straight reamers, but I=12m =13tool poor=14 =
as it is. If
roughened center pins will work just as well, I=12d rather save the =
$139.00.
