The only reason I assumed this might come up was higher post lift =20
(because it's mounted further from the lever center, the new lever =20
being longer, negligible, I'll bet) or higher key end lift (because =20
of moving to 17mm shanks).

Hah! Exactly what I'm looking for. If you're adding them, are these =20
the 008643 (old style)? One way or another I have to get the springs =20
out of the way of the saw cuts, either by completely uprooting them =20
or by bending the long leg 180=BA backwards (temporarily removing 1/2 =20=

coil). If you had an exact-match source, then I wouldn't have to =20
worry about springs get mangled during the above proposed methods. =20
Also, if you were adding springs to levers not made to receive them, =20
how'd you make the spring groove? By hand with a veining tool?

Looks like I'll be scabbing on a small block at each end of the tray, =20=

'cause without them the pivots would want to fall in the area cut out =20=

for clearance of the inside end of the lever. ".......but that's the =20

I'll glad it's on record that someone else has been doing this =20
already <g> This is for http://williamackerman.com/studio.html
