I've spoken to Pianotek regarding these locks.  As I understand it, there's two or three key types.  I ordered two locks for a school which already had one on a third piano.  They wanted to know the number on the key so they could supply locks that used the same key.  Call them and give them the number on the key.  I'd bet, though, that the key you already have is the actual key for it, especially if it slides into the lock.  Something may be jamming the tumbler.  Have fun!

I service many pianos in the Billings, MT area that are locked with those hands off locks.  They all use the same key, or at least all the ones, that I have serviced have.  I'm sure that Pianotek or Schaff could provice a key for you.  If you have no luck with them let me know as I can have the key duplicated and send it to you.  I
have made it a habit to always have one in my service vehicle for those "just in case cases" when the music teacher fails to leave the key for me or when the schools can't find the key in their collection.  ( a practice that has been useful countless times ).

    The unit is marketed by Pianotek Supply Co in Clawson, Mi.  I'll bet they have a way of removing it.  Call them at 1-800-347-3854.
