Hi Brooks,
It will be easier to shim the spring than bend it to the position that =
you want. The shimming is more controled and immediatly reversable to =
where it once was.

  Subject: Shift pedal return spring

  List:
A client wants me to weaken the shift pedal return spring on a Seiler =
grand. He says it takes to much effort to push down the pedal.
Seiler's response to my inquiry in reference to this:
"You can bend the spring a little back, to give less force to the =
spring. Another possibility is to place a piece of wood under the first =
of the two screws, which hold the spring, to bring the position of the =
spring away from the keyboard frame."
  Any thoughts?
