Is this the "Thayer action"?  This Story & Clark spinet from 1954 (S/N =
246699) has an extra rail and flange, and two extra action centers.  The =
back of the key has a capstan, that pushes up on a horizontal arm that =
has an action center (attached to the extra rail) on the other side of =
the capstan from the strings.  Instead of the typical rubber grommets =
connecting to stickers, there's another proper action center.

I've held one key down in this shot; you can barely see the capstan on =
the key.
