Setting gram resistance on underlevers

I calibrate the underlever assist spring tension using my digital scale.

With the assembly up on blocks, a small block of wood is placed on the platten
to support the underlever about half-travel, which (if your key lifts it to 
horizontal)
is ~1/8" below horizontal.
