Since Mr. Shipe asked and I took the pictures, I figured I might as well  
send the pictures of this tool--designed by Mr. Greg Debrisay--to the  list.
 
The straight handle of the tool is  4 inches long, with around 2  1/2 inches 
after the bend.  The upturned part at the end with the slot is  around 1/4 
inch long.  It's very ingenious, and works quite well.
