MessageHello Alan and List
Sorry, Made a mis-read of micrometer. No.1 Number Drill should read: =
0.228" (not 0.028")

    Hello Alan and List
    The "number" drills are used by the model engineering fraternity. I =
have a case of them. My case numbers the drills from 1 - 60 and they are =
"wire guage".According to my micrometer the No.1 drill measures 0.028" =
(across the flukes) and the No.60 drill measures 0.040". No.37 is 0.104"
    Regards=20

      Here's a very useful page to have a printed copy of in your =
reference materials. I found it while researching the question which =
follows:

      http://www.saw-online.com/Tips/drill.htm

      Question: They say to use a #37 drill bit when cleaning out action =
center cloth from flanges, etc. What the heck is a #37 bit? Is it the =
"wire size " 37 shown on the chart above?

      Metric?

      Alien?
