Hi Terry,
You're thinking right.

STEP 3: The solenoids are in groups, screwed to aluminum rails, which are
hanging on nuts and bolts.
Take good measurements of the current position of the solenoid tips, fore
and aft, up and down; so you can get them back in position.

You might have enough room on the hanger bolts to simply lower the solenoid
rails, but not have to remove.
If you need to remove, set up some kind of platform just under them,
lengthwise along the keybed, to set them on temporarily.
(The wiring may or may not allow you enough room to set them on the floor).

STEP 2: To access the nuts/bolts, you'll need to remove the solenoid rail
cover...big metal black box. Usually attached with long Philips screws in
the four corners of the box. It will have wires attached, but they should
be long enough to allow you to set it on the floor.
(As above, you might find it helpful to create a platform to set it on).

STEP 1: Oh, and yes you should unplug it, no need to make your hair frizzy.

Best regards,

So, the question is: How difficult is it to remove/re-install the
PianoDisk plunger rail - and if it is a reasonably thing to do, any tips? My
guess is that I could figure it out on my own - I imagine just a few
nuts/bolts/screws to remove the thing just drops down (unplug first!) - but
I also figure it is always best to ask someone that has done this before.
Anyone?

  Thanks.

  Terry Farrell
