You never know, Joe, I might end up on an electric scooter, plugged each 
night into the batteries filled the day before from the roof ..... well, 
how practical would that be?

The Prius doesn't plug in yet, unless you tinker with it and add more and 
better batteries, but then, I don't have the money for it yet, either, so 
we're even. It still does better than the Corolla, except financially. 
45-60 mpg, depending on how good your footwork is.

As for the dams, I hear you -- that's why I send some $$$ each month with 
my power bill to build the wind farms. Wish they'd get ON with it!

A friend took a rusty old Rabbit and converted to biodiesel. Not enough of 
that for everybody, but for now it works great. There's one local station 
selling it. The thing runs fine and smells like french fries. (This might 
be a hazard for those --ahem-- circumferentially challenged.)
