You are attaching to the bridge pin itself... the fact that you are attaching to the back one and still get a very large affect, while neighboring strings are unnaffected / perhaps only barely affected is interesting in the face of some of the discussions surrounding string / soundboard vibrations etc. Localized impedance problems themselves migh be explaned by the resonance frequencies profile your particular board has.
