After perusing the photo, I suspect you have a combination "goop". =
Possibly, the original flange bushing cloth was "impregnated" with =
graphite, al a Renner bushing cloth. Then some ijit decided to put a bit =
of "lube" on them puppies....probably WD-40. WD-40 gets gummy with age, =
in my experience. Flushing it out of metal parts is not a problem. But, =
flushing it out of wood would be next to impossible, IMO. Best Replace =
the parts, or, put the action back in and "walk", (as in run!<G>), away.
