Improving a Dampp Chaser system

Hi James,

I doubt if your swings are as great as mine then (4% to 84%). So I would
suspect the installs do *not* have back covers on uprights. Grand
damppchasers here work well *only* if a bottom cover is used and the lid is
kept fully closed most of the time. The pads need to be changed 4 times per
year here as well--so look into more frequent pad changes for your DC clients.

For uprights so far the "record" is 1.32 cents drop at A4 after 4 years in
a large Sherlock Manning. First tuning was between 50 and 146 cents pitch
correction--so it was not used to concert pitch. Three tunings later the
piano was missed somehow--so not tuned for 4 years.
