Does anyone know where I can obtain a grand action shifter spring for a =
1935
Chickering grand? The ones that I got from Schaff are too wide. The =
spring
I need is a smidge over =BE of an inch wide. The needed spring is a =

Spring steel can be ground down to size, not filed or sawn, as you =
probably
know. If you do not have a grinder, a sander or sanding disc with =
aluminum
oxide paper will do the job (your choice of grit). Keep dipping the =
spring
in water to keep it cool enough to touch.
