Deciphering Notes from the Piano Player

This note was waiting for me at the Methodist Church, on the Samick baby grand (oo, ah, icky-poo, piecacrap, but I digress...)

I remember you called me about the soft pedal & I should have called you back but didn't. I don't even remember what you said you did--but it did take care of that note that the hammer was striking a string of another -- However, I'm not getting any action when using the soft pedal --Thanks for checking.

Note: I don't really remember, but obviously one of the hammers was aligned so the shift sent it too far over. By the way, I call that thingy the una corda or the shift pedal; I never call it the soft pedal because I don't want to perpetuate the myth. 

All of that notwithstanding, I wander what kind of action she wants from that there left-most pedal? I mean, a piano can only do so much ...
