  We've just completed the "Custom Restoration' on Steinway Grand  
piano S/N 258227 .  It is now for sale.

    1929 Steinway 6 ft 4 1/2 inch Model A Steinway
   This piano was owned by 1 family over only 2 generations & was in  
excellent original condition.  It had not previously been rebuilt &  
all parts were original. As many know the long  "Steinway A"  is a  
highly sought after Steinway.  Last being made in 1943, it is a rare  
& awesome model.  Some feel it is the best overall string scale, with  
unusually good bass tenor tonal cross over characteristics.

  Custom Restoration features and work performed:

New custom polished lacquer finish in walnut color with light reddish  
brown tint which highlights the flame in the Mahogany wood. All Nitro  
Cellulose lacquer (no water base) used.

New custom designed & built soundboard system featuring hand selected  
tight grained, hard rock & aged maple bride tops  as well as tight  
grained  tongue & grooved Sitka Spruce panel, white & Sitka ribs.   
Includes  sweeping cut-off bar & redesigned rib scale.

Steinway style quarter sawn maple pin block.  Epoxy fit to plate  
flange for superior tuning stability

Beautiful acrylic lacquer plate finish/ bronzing with all original  
markings, serial & string numbers.

G. C. company bass strings  & Mapes  International Gold  wire on no.  
2 tuning pins.  Custom designed & double wrapped single strings  
improves bottom end fundamental frequencies.

Custom designed, balanced & regulated action includes Steinway  
factory Renner wippens & hammers, Abel maple shanks.  New dampers &  
re-felted guide rail bushing.  Original damper system back action  
with modern Sostenuto tab feature.  Voiced & regulated to the best  
traditions of Steinway touch & sound.

Original polished & perfect ivory keyboard.  Ebony sharps.

  New Artist bench.

The piano has an wonderful tonal capabilities. Tone colors abound in  
a wide dynamic range, giving the truly accomplished pianist more  
tonal resources necessary for broader musical interpretations. It is  
very much A 6 ft 4 inch concert grand.
