I've talked to the maker of Permali, and have samples coming. He's sending two samples of different grades of Dehonite, which they are supplying to China for pinblock material. They're both beech, one at 6 laminations per CM, and one at 5. The stock Permali sample will be more than 10 laminations per CM, which ought to be just fine for bridge caps if it meets a few other criteria. I'll have more information when the samples arrive.
