Well...actually, they're Renner parts--for a grand.  I would like to donate the work, I just don't want to get called back--if you know what I mean.
 
Yes, as you can see by the picture, I am short.  I can, however, stretch up to an old upright if I want to.  It isn't always easy to peer into nine-foot grand pianos while regulating either.  ;-)

PS  And I know I'm knock kneed, too.  My sister (God Bless her soul), was bow-legged.  My father said when we stood together we spelled the word OH (or HO).

I've worked on three Samick and one Young Chang action with seized action centers this past year. The Samicks had a black yuck in the bushing cloth and the Young Chang pins were scratched, probably from being pinned too tight. Both manufacturers recommended shrinking the bushing cloth with 50/50 alcohol and water, then heat it up with a heat gun, exercise the joint, and "voila!" they magically loosen up. They also recommended lubing with Protek while the parts are still warm.
 
At this point, let your conscience be your guide. At a minimum, the hammer shanks/flanges will need repinning, and you may find a few wippens or jacks that don't loosen up quite enough. When I repinned these, I tended to favor the loose side of 5-7 swings. The felt is as firm as it ever will be, and if the nasties reappear, lowering the friction will increase repair longevity. On the Samicks, I had to pull the Damper tray and treat the underlevers. On the Young Chang, I didn't.
 
You didn't say the piano is a grand...I'm thinking you aren't tall enough to work on uprights, are you?

Hi all,
 
So, what's the scoop on these various parts that have seized up (graphite or whatever causing it) and then have been repinned.  Will they tighten up again?  
 
I'd like to donate some work to a worthy cause and would like to "recycle" repinned & slightly modified parts (the only way I can afford to donate the job).
