This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Avery, According to one prominent Korean manufacturer, just use a wee drop of = white glue...enough so the knuckle doesn't want to come out. Don't = slather glue in the slot, there's plenty of mechanical holding ability = there. Cute tricks?? Wear band aids (or thin gloves) to keep your greasy fingers off the = surface of the knuckle. Do make sure the grooves are super clean. Dry fit each knuckle first as you progress. You may need to dress up the = fit sometimes. Get the alignment left to right perfect - check for rubbing knuckles = with their neighbors frequently. Watch out for poorly aligned/traveled = whipens in the first place. Make sure the knuckle is bottomed out in the groove evenly. Keep the knuckles oriented uniformly (usually a line is inscribed on one = side of the knuckle)...Just like if it had real nap to the covering = material, which it doesn't, most likely. (Yeah, yeah grain orientation = is a point of discussion for some techs) Be prepared time -wise to do some regulation. (jack to knuckle core = orientation, hammer line, let-off, drop...) Of course by now the dip is = way too deep, but we won't be doing that, eh? Best trick of all: Getting paid by the manufacturer for what the job is = really worth! I'll be doing that tomorrow. The old ones came out with no broken ones and the grooves are in a = pretty straight line and the new ones are snug, so I don't anticipate any = problems. But just thought I'd ask anyway! :-) BTW, what glue do you recommend? = Hot Hide? Tightbond?
