I happen to have acquired somewhere some rather old heater bars. The cords on them have all gone bad and they have never been used. The insulation turned very hard and brittle. It would crack exposing bare wire with any kind of flexure. So, the moral is, if you have a customer with an old heater bar make sure the cord is still good.
