#1 It's called "shelf life." I think I ranted recently about ordering a 
Dampp-Chaser system from them (about 2 years ago) which had been 
shipped to them from Dampp-Chaser over a year earlier, and was 
definitely "last year's model." Moral of the story: buy from someplace 
where you can be sure it's at least *nearly* fresh. I buy from a local 
Woodcraft Supply. When by mail order, get it from Dryburgh.
#2 Sometimes these "kits" have a bottle of accelerator in the bag. 
Yeah, it's never been opened but it *does* leach out enough by osmosis 
to make the glue in the sealed bottle harden. Amazing, but true.
